Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 34

Hi folks,

Results from the past few weeks have led to few changes in team league positions. Cali Girl have have however dropped to third in the league, and Brookers United have taken over at the top. Bubu's Purrfect Eleven have moved up to second place. The manager is purring awfully loud, and reckons that his team are the cat's whiskers, and he's top cat. The manager of Mark's Superstars is not so happy, he is now resigned to the fact that his team will have to relinquish the league title for the first time in three years.

Down at he bottom of the league One Tooth Less may yet avoid the wooden spoon. Real Bettis Hot Pot are curremtly playing so badly that four of the teams players lost point over the past few weeks.

Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 30

Hi folks,

Very sorry - it has been so long since the last update. During the intervening period only two teams have seen really big league position movement. Real Bettis Hot Pot are down 12 places and Hatters Matterz are up 9 places. Positions at the top of the league remain very close with only 29 points covering all four top teams and other teams not much further behind.

Points appear to be harder to come by this season compared to previous one's. Teves is currently the top striker with 218 points, Nani top midfielder with 187 points, Vidic top defender with 171 points, and Hart top goalkeeper with 155 points.Do I detect a Manchester influence here?

Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 18

Hi folks,

Here is the league table up to Friday 4th February. The player transfer window closed at 12.15pm 5th February, but some of you may not have realised the website had been updated. I will therefore allow managers to send in late transfers up to  mid-night Tuesday 8th February. So if you still want to make transfers e-mail them in NOW. Thank you to the five managers who have sent in their transfers on time.

Dawsons Dynamos had a catastrophic week scoring minus one. Over The pond benefitted from an upward points correction. Keef's Hotshots suffered from a downward points correction.

Only sixty points covers the top 5 teams in the league with other teams not much further behind, so all is to play for. One team One Tooth Less appears to have currently lost touch with the other teams. I am sure the manager is hoping for a change in fortune. It is possible for a team to climb up the league after a slow start, a glance at the weekly trend chart shows this. It also shows that a team can fall down the league after a slow start.

Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 16

Hi folks,

Here is the league table up to Friday 21st January . Not too many changes, but top spot went to Cali girl who scored just a little better the her adversaries. One score did catch my eye it was from the quietly upwardly mobile BuBu!, he seems to have a feline attitude to Fantasy Football, eat a lot, nap a lot, and take a lot of strokes.

I do have to tell you that the second player transfer window is now open 27th January until 12.15pm 5th FebruarySo choose carefully, some of us probably need to choose more than 3 players but that’s all we are allowed so go for it!!

Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 14

Hi folks,

Here we are the other side of Christmas and New Year I hope everyone had a good one. Over this period there wasn’t any great movement in the league, a few teams dropped into the bottom four, three out of the four must be a bit confused as they are being beaten by a Pussy cat.
Now at the other end of the league we have a new leader Brookers United and it is congrats to coach Brooker as this is his first time in this league.

Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 12

Hi folks,
I hope all of you have had a good couple of weeks, I know the manager of  Brokers United did, he had the highest score and that helped his team move into 2nd spot. Also on the bottom of the league, the manager of Senectus had a good couple weeks his team got enough points to move off the bottom.

One team did have a bit of a problem, was the Hammers, they seem to be duplicating their premiership name sake, but I’m sure their manager has a master plan to keep them off the bottom.

I hope everyone is looking forward to your teams doing well over the Christmas period a lot of points can be picked up and your team can move up the table nice and quickly. See you in a couple of weeks.

Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 10

Hi folks,

It has been a long time since you saw one of these comments, so I'm going to start this one by blaming a lot of the problems I have had on a web site glitch. For reasons that only they know, my web connection went down resulting in me not being able to publish the results. The transfer market then opened, and I had a lot of data to enter. It became pretty heavy to sort it all out, but I managed it in the end. So I thank you for your patience, and hope you don't want to red card me.

To change the subject and focus on the teams it would seem the young people in this league are showing us how it's done, with both of them being under the age of 12, I don't what that means of the rest of us old boys & girls, and on the bottom of the league table it all changes the other way up the age group changes a bit (well a lot). So here is the table and please check out the web site to gain info on your players.

Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 6

Hi folks,

Week 6 results are here, and the first player transfer window is open. It's therefore time to check out your team, and kick out those players who are not performing.

Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 3

Hi folks,

Well here we are three weeks in and no serious upsets except Real Bettis, who seems to be having problems but I'm sure a few more weeks when the managers do their rotations he will be back on his way. Be sure to (and I know you will) let me know about my mistakes; teething pains is what I will call them. We have a few less people this year, but I know it will still be fun seeing where your team ends up each week. I see that the main culprits have started well, racking up their points except for a certain young Mr. Rooney who has come back from the World Cup still looking lethargic. I hope for all of US who picked him he gets his mojo back and starts scoring.

It's a long season and lots can happen so don't get disheartened; transfers and injuries can change the league very quickly. One minute you are on the top and the next you're on the bottom, so chin up and lets have a good year.

Fantasy Football (Season 2010 / 2011) - Week 0

Hi folks,

Here I am again, ready to run the Howcorp Fantasy Football League for another season. There is now less than two weeks before the start of the new season, so it's time to get your skates on, and start reviewing the footballers playing in the premiership this season. I've got say though, think carefully before picking the english players, because they were about as useful as a ham sandwich at a bar mitzvah during the world cup!!

The deadline for entries this season is 12.45pm on the 14th of August. My e-mail address for sending your completed entry forms to is
 howcorp@sbcglobal.net.

I very much hope everyone is going to enter again this season, as I did enjoy doing it last season. Touch wood, I hope not to have quite so many visits to the hospital this season, and this should mean I can keep a closer eye on the scoring, and send out more regular and frequent updates.

As with last season, I am going to leave the money side of things to my brother Keith, so please be punctual with sending him the money. He can then go out and spend it on the horses, and see if he can swell the pot!! (just kidding) his e-mail address is keithhow@metronet.co.uk. The entry fee will once again be £5 or $7.50. Transfers will be £0.50 or $0.75 a player, and there will be three transfer windows this season rather than two, my health permitting.

If anyone has any questions please contact me, and I will try to answer them.

If I have missed any of last seasons managers off the introductory e-mail that I have sent out, or there is another relative or close friend, that you know would like to enter a team, then please pass on my introductory e-mail, and give them Keith and my e-mail addresses.
